Vintage Advertisement of the Week – July 24, 2024
Powered Burned? The look on her face is priceless. Don’t you just love these 1950’s cartoon artists? The determination on her face makes me feel like I need to get up and polish something. Lucky for me, that fleeting already passed.

I purchased this ad off Ebay. The only clues to its origin were that it was page 186 and it came from a standard sized (8 1/2 x 11) magazine. This ad was most likely used from 1955-1957. Twinkle Copper Cleaner was a product sold by the Drackett Company. The same company that peddled Windex until it was bought out by S.C. Johnson and Son in 1992.
I have yet to find the illustrator’s name for this ad. I wish I could give them credit where credit is due. They did a series of these advertisements for Twinkle that are just darling. I’ll keep punching. I may even reach out to S.C. Johnson to see if anyone there has records. If I find out, I’ll let you know. If you know, put me wise, please!
